Vaccination Requirements

Vaccination records can be faxed to us at (845)226-3961, or you can email them to us at cckpets@gmail.com.

**If you think your pets will require vaccinations for boarding please check with your vet as soon as possible.  We have been told that due to COVID-19 many of the vets are still behind with routine vaccinations and people have had trouble getting appointments.**

For Dogs we require the following:

Rabies

Distemper/Parvo (yearly titer tests are also accepted)

Bordatella (Intranasal or Oral)

Canine Influenza

Regarding the Canine Influenza vaccine:  It is a two part series, typically given 2-4 weeks apart.  We accept pets that have only had the first part so long as they DO NOT come due for the second while staying with us.  We accept the single strain vaccines or the bivalent that covers both the H3N8 and H3N2 strains of the influenza.  For more information please visit the American Veterinary Medical Association website.

For Cats we require the following:

Rabies

Distemper

(Feline Leukemia not required)

We work very closely with all the vets in our area and welcome any questions they may have regarding our vaccine requirements.

Should your pet require medical attention while in our care our first call is always to you and your primary veterinarian.  If for whatever reason your vet is unavailable or does not get back to us within a reasonable amount of time, whether it be day or night, we will use our on-call vet, which is the Center for Veterinary Care located in Millbrook, NY.  They will then be in contact with both you and your vet to discuss the care of your pet.

While we are happy to board older pets, there are some additional questions and concerns we like to address prior to taking reservations for those 10 years and older.  If you have a pet in their golden years please contact our office.

Reservation Policy

When you are booking a reservation you are reserving specific dates and times (AM & PM).  If your plans change and you return early you are more than welcome to pick your pet up during our scheduled hours.  Please realize that you WILL BE CHARGED for the dates you have reserved.  Also if you choose a PM checkout you will be charged for the day.  CANCELLATIONS made less than 2 weeks (3 weeks during peak season) prior to check-in date will result in a cancellation fee.  If a reservation is cancelled 48 hours or less of check-in you will be charged for the full reservation.

While we understand that plans change please realize that we CANNOT be held responsible for illnesses, weather and other events that may cause a reservation to be cancelled.

Payment for all services are due in full at the time of pick up.

We accept cash and checks.  Please no debit or credit cards.

Food

For your dog we have Pedigree and Iams brand adult dry foods.  For your cat we have Meow Mix.  If your pet does not eat one of our selections it is highly recommended that you bring your own food to avoid an upset stomach and loose stool.  If you are bringing your own food please remember that all food needs to be pre-portioned for each meal and each day, with the exception of canned food.  While we prefer Ziploc type plastic bags other bags are fine, provided they are free of foreign objects such as staples and paper clips. We can proportion and refrigerate wet food accordingly.  We DO NOT keep large quantities of canned food on hand.

If your pet has any special dietary needs (such as allergies/sensitivities, or perhaps they are on a raw diet) please inform the staff at the time of booking.

You are also more than welcome to send treats and chews for your pets.

Medication

Our staff is trained and knowledgeable to administer a variety of medications, including the distribution of insulin.

If your pet is on any type of medication please DO NOT mix it in with their dry food.  Please bring the labeled bottle or an exact count of pills with the name, dose and exact instructions.  This applies to any vitamins, supplements or over the counter medicine.  This is a strict policy for the safety of your pet, as well as the neighboring pets alongside their kennel.  Any pills found to be in with food will be removed and administered properly and you will be charged.

Medication Charges:

$2.00/day for up to three medications.

$5.00/day for four or more medications.

$5.00/day for any injectable medication, such as insulin.

If provided by the owner, there is no charge for the application of flea/tick preventative or the administration of monthly heartworm medication.

Professional, insured carers make sure your dog has a vacation as great as yours!

Bedding and Toys

All kennels are outfitted with plastic platform beds to get your pet off the floor.  Personal beddding is allowed November 1st - May 1st.  The types of bedding that are acceptable are towels, bath mats and smaller bedding.  We advise against sending their favorite bed from home.  Be aware that while we do our best to keep bedding clean we do not have laundering facilities.

Exceptions regarding bedding are made for older pets, puppies, and pets that have a medical necessity.

All bedding is accepted at the discretion of the kennel staff.

You are more than welcome to bring any treats that you would like your pet to have.  For example: greenies, milk bones, rawhides, pig ears, jerky, etc.  We will only give treats that are provided by you to avoid any food allergies that we may not be aware of.

We shy away from rope and plush toys, or other toys that may be easily torn apart.  Any kind of hard toys like kongs, nylabones, tennis balls, etc. are absolutely fine.
